Today, UKBA announced that, from 12 November 2012, UK visa applications made in Jakarta will be decided on by ECOs (Visa Officers) at the British Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand. Visa applications in Indonesia continue to be submitted at the VFS Global application centre in Jakarta but will now be forwarded to the British Embassy in Bangkok for decision. UKBA reports that this transfer will not affect turnaround times. In practice, however, we feel that it is more than likely that the total processing time (the time from when you submit your application to when you collect your passport) will increase.
